Mekong Environment Forum Workshop “Building Community Capacity in Response to Mekong Delta Environmental Changes”

A workshop themed “Building Community Capacity in Response to Mekong Delta Environmental Changes” will be held in Can Tho City on December 28, 2017.

The workshop will be jointly organized by the Mekong Environment Forum (MEF), Pan Nature, Open Development Mekong Initiative (ODM), and Can Tho University.

The workshop aims to:

  • Look for, and train, young activists and professionals ​who are interested in, and have passion for, research work and reporting related to natural conservation and climate change adaptation.
  • Identify and examine feasible and effective climate resilient production models to introduce and popularize among communities. Success stories introduced at the workshop will shed new light on how think tanks, researchers and farmers could make collaborative action to further refine, or develop new economic paradigms in coping with the changing environment context.
  • Develop and strengthen community capacity by networking and promoting mutual learning and experience sharing among workshop participants who are researchers, local officials, community representatives, and young professionals.
