IT applied in census on socio-economic status of 53 ethnic minorities

Unlike the first survey conducted in 2015, the second census on the socio-economic status of 53 ethnic minorities will thoroughly apply information technology in all stages. 

According to the GSO, the biggest difference of this survey is that it mainly uses information collection with the help of mobile electronic devices, called CAPI (computer-assisted personal interviewing) for short. The application of CAPI information collection through the use of mobile electronic devices such as tablets and smartphones will increase the quality of data due to the control of logical issues in collecting information. Also monitoring of enumerators during interviews at households and helping to save time to complete the questionnaire and shorten the processing period to publish data. The method will save costs for printing paper notes, information input and other related expenses.
