2nd national ethnic minority congress slated for April

The second national congress of ethnic minority groups is scheduled to take place from April 17-19 in Hanoi with the participation of 1,600 delegates, according to a recently approved plan.

The congress aims to spotlight and recognise contributions by ethnic minority communities in poverty reduction, new-style rural area building, infrastructure development, and implementing ethnic policies, national construction and defence, and international integration.

Participants will focus on reviewing the implementation of policies on ethnic affairs and relevant works in the last decade, towards perfecting ethnic policies in the time to come.
