Vietnam launches AI Ethics Committee to lead responsible innovation
As AI advances rapidly, Vietnam’s AI Ethics Committee seeks to provide guidance, ensuring transparency, accountability, and social benefits.
At the seminar “Safe AI – Shaping Responsible Innovation” held in Hanoi on December 5, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) announced the establishment of the AI Ethics Committee, which aims to guide Vietnam’s AI development, ensuring that it adheres to ethical standards, fosters innovation alongside social benefits, and creates a favorable legal environment for AI.
Nguyen Tu Quang, Vice Chairman of VINASA and Chairman of the AI Ethics Committee, emphasized the importance of legal and ethical frameworks to ensure sustainable and effective AI development. “These frameworks are not about control but about guidance, helping AI reach its full potential while mitigating negative impacts. They also provide a pathway for sustainable technological advancement aligned with societal values,” Quang explained.
