Ample room for rice exports
Vietnam’s rice exports rose strongly by nearly 45% in value in the first months of the year, while many enterprises did not have sufficient rice to export, given the increasing global demand for food.
According to Nguyen Ngoc Nam, chairman of the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), Vietnam’s rice export is seeing favorable conditions this year as the demand is higher than the supply. However, it is necessary to restructure production, linkages, and adaptation to climate change to seize market opportunities.
